Company: Xi’an Starmet Equipment Co., Ltd.

At Xi’an Starmet Equipment Co., Ltd. ("Starmet"), we deliver specialized, custom-engineered metallurgical equipment and industrial project solutions tailored to precise client technical specifications. Because our products are non-standard industrial machinery built to order, standard consumer return policies do not apply.

Our terms regarding order modifications, cancellations, quality acceptance, and warranty replacements are outlined below:

1. Custom Engineered Equipment & Order Modifications
  • Non-Standard Production: All metallurgical equipment (including Electric Arc Furnaces, Ladle Furnaces, Submerged Arc Furnaces, Continuous Casting Machines, and custom spare parts) are custom-manufactured based on approved engineering drawings and contract agreements.
  • Engineering Change Requests (ECR): Modifications to technical designs, capacity specifications, or scope of supply after contract signing are subject to written approval. Any cost or schedule adjustments resulting from design changes will be agreed upon via formal written contract addendums.

2. Order Cancellation Policy
Because manufacturing, raw material procurement, and engineering integration begin immediately following contract signing and deposit receipt:
  • Order cancellations requested prior to manufacturing commencement may incur administrative and preliminary engineering fees.
  • Once raw material procurement or equipment fabrication has commenced, order cancellations are governed exclusively by the Cancellation & Default clauses stipulated in your signed Commercial Purchase Contract.

3. Inspection, Acceptance & Quality Non-Conformity
  • Pre-Shipment Inspection (Factory Acceptance Test - FAT): Clients or designated third-party inspection agencies (e.g., SGS, TÜV, BV) are invited to inspect equipment prior to packing and shipment as specified in the agreement.
  • Defect & Non-Conformity Claims: Upon arrival at the port or plant site, the client must conduct receiving inspections. Any physical damage, shortage, or non-conformity to contract specifications must be reported in writing within the inspection period specified in the contract, supported by photo/video evidence and inspection reports.
  • Correction of Defects: If components are verified to be defective or non-conforming due to manufacturing or packing errors, Starmet will promptly repair, re-fabricate, or supply replacement parts at our expense in accordance with contract terms.

4. Warranty & Component Replacement Policy
  • Warranty Period: Standard metallurgical equipment is covered by a commercial quality warranty (typically 12 months from plant commissioning or 18 months from bill of lading date, whichever comes first, unless otherwise specified in the contract).
  • Warranty Scope: During the warranty period, if equipment fails or breaks down due to manufacturing defects or material quality, Starmet will provide free technical support, replacement parts, or engineering assistance as per warranty terms.
  • Exclusions: The warranty does not cover damage caused by improper installation (unless supervised by Starmet), operator error, lack of required maintenance, unapproved modifications, or normal operational wear and tear on consumable parts (such as refractories, water-cooled hoses, seals, etc.).

5. Questions & Contract Inquiries
For questions regarding technical acceptance, warranty claims, or spare parts replacement, please contact your designated project manager or our technical service team at info@starmetgroup.com.
